Read MoreI have always loved animals and been surrounded by various pets all my life, buts its only in the last 6 years that I became more aware of how our actions are causing so much devastation to our environment.
I think it’s both shocking and upsetting that with a world population of over 7.5 billion there are only around 1000 wild Mountain Gorillas and an increasing list of species which are extinct or on the verge of extinction. Hocus Pocus medicines, deforestation for palm oil and trophy hunting are some of the main causes along with plastic pollution. Most of us are aware of Sir David Attenborough and Blue Planet II – and the changes we need to make to reduce our plastic waste – but we need to do more …..even if you are not an animal lover and struggling with changing your habits, it is estimated that we consume a credit card of plastic each week – and we do not know the long term health effects this can have……
I am also a huge advocate of finding products which do NOT contain unnecessary Palm oil – and certainly never from an unsustainable source – it really doesn’t need to be in a nut butter, chocolate spread or cereals. My daughters find me embarrassing when I stand in the shop isle checking the ingredients on labels, and placing items back on the shelves if they do not conform. I know there will be those out there who will disagree with my principals, we all make our own choices and have our own values but I am sticking to mine……..
My aim by creating this page is to try to help coax those who were further behind on their journey to protecting our planet and those who want to do more but are struggling with how to do it….
This is my way of showing there are simple choices we can make on a daily basis and where you can find loads of useful tips…if you have any other useful suggestions – please do get in contact.
Personally, I have supported many wildlife projects around the world for over 25 years, visiting and supporting conservation projects and breeding programmes when I can. The work that the dedicated conservations put in is overwhelming. Moving forward we will be donating 1% of our profits to Fauna and Flora International every year and I will continue with my environmental journey.
This year we are planning to setup workshops using waste materials, retreats and crafting to run in the Autumn so please sign up if you would like to receive information on dates….we will only send information on the workshops and dates with no other rubbish.
